Hermon Hotel
Situated in the dusty hamlet of Hermon (45 mins from Cape Town), this is one of the few old fashioned country hotels left standing! Don’t be put off by the deserted feel outside, push on through and you will enter a place where time has stood still.
Willem and Connie – the owners – are charming and the rooms clean, comfortable and en-suite – beware the slippery tiles though! The dining room isn’t retro, it’s the real deal and the bar is a real local enclave complete with coffin on the wall!
The garden is very pretty and has a swimming pool for those sweltering summer days. Order your tipple of choice and enjoy one of the huge steaks that Willem is famous for!
