Pub and café a few kms outside the town itself (don’t be put off by the name!) – with good burgers and toasties from the Road Kill Café!
Botrivier
Lovely bar serving craft beer and good pub food.
Restaurant in converted railroad siding serving up freshly made wood fired pizza, ribs, burgers and traditional Sunday roast.
Cederberg
Kromrivier Restaurant – beautiful newly built wood and glass structure that blends seamlessly into the environment. Great home cooked food and on-site brewed craft beer – Nieuwbrew.
De Rust
Great place to stop for breakfast or lunch. Situated in the main road it is identifiable by the large cockerel outside. Funky furniture, eclectic decor and a charming gift shop at the back. Lovely fireplace in winter and welcoming courtyard for summer days. The food and service is excellent and there are also unusual jams, olive oils and preserves for sale. I believe Sunday lunches are special – booking is essential. A new addition is a bar adjacent to the restaurant which is open during the day and Wednesday evenings.

Greyton
Tapas and freshly sourced seasonal produce. Small, cosy restaurant with a fire in winter and outside area for summer dining.
One of Greyton’s institutions. Very vibey, busy joint with good coffee and sandwiches. Always lots of people to watch and nice art on the walls.

This eclectic store sells memorabilia and kitchen utensils, along with freshly baked cakes and fine food.
Kalk Bay
The best sea food with exquisite views of the sea, but it doesn’t come cheap.
This place is always full so the atmosphere is up there with the best. Wonderful baked goods and delicious food ordered from the blackboard of daily specials.
Fabulous tapas bar with interesting menu and lovely interior.
Numerous bars and eating areas, all with sea views, and serves great fish and chips.
Matjiesfontein
The wood panelled bar inside the hotel. Pub grub and fun atmosphere.
A la carte menu using locally sourced produce. Karoo inspired food -evenings only.

Lovely country fare and fabulous coffee situated in a beautiful old building decorated with botanical prints.

On the beachfront with amazing views over the ocean. Very funky and vibey serving great burgers and a good selection of craft beers. Open daily.
Great coffee and food stop. The place is fun and full of energy just off the seafront with free wifi. Open daily 8am – 5pm.

An institution in Muizenberg specialising in prawns with recipes inspired by her birth country of Mozambique. Dinner Monday – Saturday 4pm til closing. No credit card facilities. Call 021 788 6860 for reservations and further info.

This grand old dame houses a lovely restaurant in splendid surroundings. Open Tuesday to Friday 11am – 4pm; Saturday & Sunday 9.30am – 4pm. Booking advised.

Lovely selection of homemade produce and breads. Also serves breakfast, lunch and good coffee in a beautiful old stone building.
Fresh, seasonal and free range food – famous for its lamb shanks and fresh fish. There is also a pub for pre-dinner cocktails.
Popular with locals and visitors alike this is a very comfortable pub and restaurant serving delicious pizzas and pub food.

Paternoster
Delicious and well presented food and there is a substantial wine list with some off-beat choices. Best to book over weekends.
Situated on the rocks above the beach with spectacular sea views. It is small and intimate with a menu to suit. Booking essential.
The red roof building that has been here for ever! Situated right on the beach – paddling in the sea is de rigour between courses. Serves great fresh fish.
The chef has been acclaimed as one of the up-and-coming ones to look out for. He only cooks if you book in advance and the menu is really creative – he classifies it as Strandveld cuisine.

Situated in an old house that fronts the street, it is an award winning restaurant, named after the owner. Open Thursday – Sunday, midday – 4pm and booking is essential.
A coffee/bakery shop that serves delicious breakfasts and light lunches. Open daily from 7.30am – 4pm and some evenings for pizza.
Situated at the entrance to the village it serves freshly made bread, croissants and mouth-watering pies for which they are famous! Open daily 7.30am-6pm.
An old-style bar and grill serving up good wholesome food, connecting to the local pub. Open midday – 9pm Tuesday to Saturday; midday – 4pm Sunday; closed Monday.
